Come Tour the New Blackberry......

The rumors are true, and a new Blackberry is soon to be released for Sprint. The Blackberry Tour will launch sometime by the end of the summer according to RIM, but some reports have shown the new device coming as early as mid July.

The new device will take the place of the World Edition 8830, and will feature the same SIM card for international service as the 8830. For those who do not know, Sprint's World Edition Blackberry allows you to use the GSM SIM that comes with the phone, or you can buy a SIM card when you are overseas. What are the benefits? Well, buying a SIM card overseas will save you a ton of money on local calling while you are overseas.

Also rumored for the device is Wi-Fi capability, as well as a 3.2 megapizel auto-focusing camera.

I love blackberry phones but it's hard to type on its small keypad.
Well I still love it anyhow. I'm waiting for teh new release just wonder how much the plan will cost. And great news about you can used a different Sim overseas.

There are several differences between the iPhone and Blackberry.  Both have advantages and provide productivity tools that beat anything on the market.

Blackberry:
- uses push technology for email (this allows you to just receive emails as they are sent to you)
- built for email first, gaming/music second
- large app store available for various tools
- most secure mobile email platform.  So secure that most medical, government, and law enforcement agencies utilize Blackberry's.

iPhone:
- very popular due to app store
- email functionality is good, easy to use
- Exchange functionality allows you to synchronize calendar/contacts/email with no wires and no additional software
- multimedia friendly with tons of features, games, downloads, etc.

All in all, these devices serve the same purpose, but they serve 2 very different consumers.  A Blackberry consumer tends to be one that cares about email first, games and music second.  An iPhone user is typically one who purchased the iPhone because it does something: certain app, certain feature, etc.

The only thing that the iPhone lacks is an excellent network.  AT&T leaves the iPhone consumer wanting more with their lack of high speed data coverage as well as the sub-par voice coverage areas.  I am not sure on how AT&T coverage is nationwide, but where I am locally it is not that great.

Both are great devices though.

Blackberry mobile set is one of the best phones in the world. It is a good news for the consumers that some news device are coming very soon with 3.2 mega camera and wi- fi technology. Hurrah.

Definitely older news. The original post is dated 6/28/09. We are discussing the Tour that was released a few months ago, but there are some new devices coming from Blackberry in the near future.

Stay tuned for updates on that phone, as well as a first hand look at the HTC Hero coming tomorrow.
